At Northern Woodcraft, we’re passionate about sharing our love for nature and helping others build the skills they need to not only survive but thrive in the outdoors—whatever the weather or conditions. We understand that everyone’s journey into outdoor adventure and self-reliance is unique. Our Bushcraft & Survival activities and courses are designed to provide a safe, welcoming environment where you can learn at your own pace. We believe that hands-on, practical experience is the best way to gain confidence, and our team is dedicated to guiding you through each skill with patience and encouragement. With years of experience exploring peaceful woodlands, wild camping, and practicing bushcraft, we both felt a calling to share what we’ve learned. That’s how Northern Woodcraft came to be. Our mission is to pass on the practical skills, deep knowledge, and respect for nature that we’ve developed through countless hours spent outdoors and through advanced training in survival schools, bushcraft techniques, and foraging.

We’re fortunate to work within a secluded, private woodland in Northumberland—an ideal backdrop for our bushcraft and survival school. Here, surrounded by nature, we can offer immersive, hands-on learning experiences that allow our students to connect deeply with the natural world.

We’re committed to providing a supportive and safe environment for all learners, whether they are seasoned outdoor enthusiasts or complete beginners just starting their journey. We’re excited to share this experience and hope you’ll join us on our next adventure.

What People Are Saying

I recently attended an “Introduction to Bushcraft” experience with Northern Woodcraft, and it was an incredible adventure from start to finish. As a complete beginner who had never camped out before, I was a bit nervous, but the fantastic guides, Chris and Terry, made me feel completely at ease. Their thorough knowledge of plants, wildlife and bushcraft skills like fire lighting, foraging, and whittling was impressive, and they shared it in such an engaging and approachable way. The beautiful private woodlands where the experience took place provided the perfect backdrop for learning and exploring.

I had a brilliant day. The woodland setting is gorgeous, the drive there alone is a must have experience if you haven’t been there before. Something special about mindfully firelighting and carving wood, which makes everything better. It’s just great hanging out in the outdoors with likeminded people. Chris is an inspiring chef too, dinner alone would cost a bomb in a hotel! I would recommend staying the night and waking up to it all over again. (Toilet is just perfect for everyone’s needs too).
